Responsibilities

Harper Paige has an upcoming opportunity is for an mid – senior-levelĀ  Data Analyst/ScientistĀ  to support a Federal client in the Washington, DC area. The position will be part of a highly collaborative, multi-disciplinary team focused on developing Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning (AI / ML) solutions for a very diverse user-base. The candidate will provide provide data management, analytic, and visualization support for the program.

Primarily responsible for:

  • Use analytic tools to conduct complex queries
  • Demonstrates proficiency in SAS and other tools in manipulating very large (1M+ records) datasets and conducting routine surveillance
  • Create methods to extract key points of information from structured and unstructured data
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis, proposing and testing hypotheses to identify and combat fraudulent activity
  • Research and test logic to define meaningful metrics and alerts for fraudulent behavior or warning signs for fraudulent behavior
  • Use data visualization techniques and tools to communicate relationships within disparate data sources
  • Develops code, test, debug documents, and implement visual analytics into web applications
  • Familiarity with data management and data governance principles
  • Use judgement to prioritize goals and objectives between multiple priorities
  • Must be comfortable with ambiguity and willing to follow where the data leads

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience
  • 1+ years of SAS development
  • Experience in building frameworks and automating complex workflows using Python
  • 2+ years working with object-oriented concepts in Python
  • Understanding of principles and applications in data management using SQL, SAS, Python, R, etc.
  • Experience with HTML and XML
  • Agile scrum/Kanban experience, having worked on cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to obtain a public trust
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong ability to manage time and organize priorities within deadlines.
